Cardiff ❖ August 2009

35mm colour film taken on a Halina Paulette Electric. . . Patrick bought this camera for me from the Newton Abbot recycling centre for £2 :) I love it's pictures when I get the focus right. . . it has one of those focusing dials where you have to guess how far away your subject is, and it's fair to say I'm pretty shit at judging distance! So my pics off this camera are usually always a little bit blurry. But uuhh, I kinda like them anyway. The colours are just beaut.

These were taken when Jacqueline, Beth and I went on a day trip to Cardiff last summer. We went shopping and had a coffee picnic and got some dinner and laughed at the Welsh signs everywhere and got hilariously drunk; good times!

Big Chill 2010 ❤❀✰

Wonderful weekend at this year's Big Chill.
My boyfriend took some of these pictures but I shall steal them for now and post them up cos I think they're great :)
Anyway. We got home today, so I'm pretty fucked up right now and really need some sleep; cannot wait for my large double matteress and nice room... And waking up tomorrow morning, not dying of heat exhaustion and getting all caught up in soggy tent flaps and grovelling around on the floor trying to get clean with baby wipes.
Man. Quite in need of a festival fast now.... Been to 5 this year already! Now it's really time to save some money, eeeeesh.

Larmer Tree Festival 2010

A week in Dorset stewarding at Larmer Tree with Imogen... Very nice indeed! My favorite thing about it were the peacocks that hung around the site. Flirting with festival goers and squawking from trees etc. Being all beautiful and regal. I love them! Why are their feathers meant to be bad luck??

Big Chill Festival 2009

Pics from last year's Big Chill! God, this weekend was just about perfect. SO hot, sunny, blissful, fun, carefree... I was very very happy here :)
Anyway. Just downloaded some free "Make-your-photos-look-like-Polaroids" software - click here for the website - and ran these Chill pics through to see what would happen. Not bad really! I like the colors, kinda cheesy and mmmm, rustic. Until I can afford a real Polaroid camera this budget substitute will have to do.

Barcelona ☀

Mad, beautiful, fun, nocturnal, sunny, pounding, busy, rejuvenating, fresh and inspiring week away in Barcelona with my boyfriend Karis, cousin Nick and two lovelies we met out there, Andrew and Mollie.
More of this, pleeeeease!
Been back here a few times now and honestly I love it to pieces. It's so exciting. Plus it's a real heaven to take photographs in... Would love to return again and stay for ages and just relax into a Spanish lifestyle and take photos, and stay in an open plan apartment that has shutters on the windows and a little balcony, and sleep in a big double bed with white cotton sheets. Oh oh ohhhh. Mission in life = make fantasies into realities. COS WHY THE HELL NOT.

OMG CAKE

Sorry, this post is pretty self-indulgent - literally MADE these epic creations very recently for two birthday people, obviously needed some photographic evidence...
Top one was for my boyfriend's birthday - recipe by Nigella Lawson here. Dahling, mmm - could probably induce a seizure from the amount of sugar, chocolate, butter, cream, eggs, cream, chocolate, butter and chocolate in that thing - it's currently in the freezer cos we couldn't handle all of it, beaten by a pudding! Never thought I'd see the day. Keep calm though, things have improved - it's evolved slightly and now makes a damn incredible piece of ice cream brownie cake, woohoo.
Anyway, bottom one was a chocolate orange cake for my Granny's 80th :) Another Nigella recipe actually, but she completely doesn't care for cutting out any of the good stuff, so y'know... Not exactly healthy, but properly delicious. That's really all you need out of a birthday cake :)

CITY PAINT PARANOIAKSMILE

************

As promised, digitals of London.
It was really all I could do not to smile like a gormless idiot all the time I was here, me and Beth got a bit snap-happy, but it was a wicked time - I think we felt extra light on our feet cos we'd left our massive heavy bags with Ari in a cafe, so not carting 5 stones worth of shit around definitely improved the situation... Trraa la laa anyways these were taken on me Pentax K-m.

GANDALF! Just remembered - we walked past Ian McKellen as well, he was carrying Hugo Boss shopping bags and looked pretty much like a nice old man :)
